Unum, a 220-employee company in Austin, TX (Auto Salvage Yard), needed to overhaul how it offered and delivered employee benefits. They were using paper enrollment, could only offer one medical plan and no voluntary options, struggled with recordkeeping, and required strong benefits education and a very quick implementation—so they engaged PlanSource to help modernize their benefits delivery.

PlanSource implemented benefits administration technology, supported a high-deductible health plan and rapid carrier integrations (including recommending Unum as a carrier), and provided a credit program to offset costs while enabling robust benefits education. As a result of PlanSource’s solution, the client moved from paper to a benefits platform, achieved 96% employee participation in benefits education, 47% participation in critical illness and accident plans, a 34% overall increase in participation, and expanded offerings from 1 to 8 lines of coverage.
