Auto-Wares, a Grand Rapids–based automotive distributor founded in 1976 with about 2,000 employees, struggled with a confusing benefits administration interface that left employees under-educated at enrollment and HR overwhelmed with questions. To address these issues, Auto-Wares turned to PlanSource and its self-service benefits education platform to improve enrollment communications and the overall user experience.
PlanSource implemented a sleek, self-service system that delivers educational videos, flyers, cost calculators and other resources directly in the enrollment flow, supported by PlanSource’s support team for configuration and questions. The result: daily help-line calls fell from more than 20 a day to almost none, employees gained clearer benefits understanding, and Auto-Wares avoided hiring additional full-time staff—producing significant cost savings.
