A PlanGrid Build Case Study
NEA Baptist Hospital is a 770,000 sq. ft., $175M hospital project in Arkansas built by Hoar Construction that began with paper-based document control. Midway through construction the team found paper workflows increasingly unmanageable—printing, distributing and keeping current sets was slow, error-prone, and costly—so they evaluated digital solutions to replace the paper process.
Hoar deployed PlanGrid and measured savings in time, paper and rework: surveyed users reported an average savings of 11 hours 9 minutes per person per week (yielding $478,872/year), paper costs fell by about $23,464/year, and estimated rework savings were $294,000/year. That produced $796,336 in annual savings ($1.97M over 2.5 years) against PlanGrid costs of $10,140/year, an ROI of roughly 7,753% (≈77x), while eliminating printed sets and improving field efficiency and issue resolution.
