How The Raymond Group keeps massive projects on track

The Raymond Group’s Las Vegas division—one of the U.S.’s leading interior and exterior contractors—handled all metal framing, drywall, painting and exterior/plaster work on a $450M arena project in 2014. The building’s scale made traditional paper drawings and email communication risky and slow, leaving field crews “starved” for up-to-date information and creating potential for costly delays and rework.

The team implemented PlanGrid on tablets, quickly adopting electronic drawings, issue tracking, RFIs, progress photos and hyperlinks to keep everyone aligned in real time. As a result they improved recovery of delay/impact costs from ~70% to 90% (a 29% increase), saved about 5 hours per person weekly (roughly 60 hours/week across the team), eliminated paper drawings entirely, and sped closeout while staying on schedule.
