How LPR sped up building their biggest project

LPR Construction, a national leader in steel erection and mechanical work managing roughly $110 million in projects, struggled with slow, paper-based workflows: multiple onsite blueprint copies, frequent reprints after revisions, and field crews wasting hours hunting for the latest drawings. With little prior tablet experience and a mandate for fast, responsive plan viewing, the company needed a digital solution that could handle large projects — including an 80-cell air-cooled condenser on a $1.3 billion power station.

After evaluating vendors, LPR piloted and then rolled out PlanGrid for its fast sheet rendering and field tools (photos, issue tracking, markups, punchlists, attachments), training crews and equipping superintendents with iPads and PMs with Windows devices. Adoption grew quickly (95% of projects; 38 users on their largest job), replacing paper workflows, speeding field work and coordination, reducing travel, improving QC, and yielding nearly $2 million in annual savings.
