Interserve Group, a UK-headquartered international construction and support services firm, was asked in March 2020 to convert 182,000 m² of the NEC into an NHS Nightingale hospital in just nine days. The accelerated timeline, evolving drawings, strict social‑distancing and coordination across multiple organisations created a major challenge to deliver a clinical-grade facility safely and on schedule.

Interserve deployed PlanGrid within Autodesk Construction Cloud—set up in under two hours with 150 drawings uploaded and site access within 24 hours—giving teams real‑time drawings, mark-ups, photos and audit trails on mobile devices. The cloud-based collaboration enabled seamless handoffs across shifts, closed handover within 48 hours, and helped deliver the Nightingale in nine days (86,000 construction hours) while maintaining quality, safety and schedule.
