A PlanGrid Build Case Study
Crossland Construction Company, Inc., a third‑generation firm founded in 1977, tackled the Mission Trails project — a $30M, five‑story, 201‑unit mixed‑use building on a tight three‑acre urban infill site. Severe weather, constrained laydown space and frequent design changes made coordination difficult, and the team’s initial software proved too slow to update plans and was poorly adopted by subcontractors.
The Kansas City team switched to PlanGrid, which enabled fast sheet uploads and distribution, saved roughly an hour per design change, and improved field adoption. Project Superintendent Tim Carson and Project Manager Matt Crossland reported smoother inspections and better on‑site coordination, with measurable collaboration across the program (about 5,000 sheets uploaded, 65,000 annotations and 11,000 photos).
