Change Healthcare, a leading provider of revenue and payment cycle management and clinical information exchange solutions, needed to modernize its statement production to improve clarity for patients, meet HIPAA requirements, and maintain its industry-leading service. Prior to the project, Change Healthcare relied on pre-printed shells and separate black-and-white personalization, which required large inventories and limited flexibility — so they engaged Pitney Bowes to upgrade their print technology.

Pitney Bowes implemented the IntelliJet Printing System as part of a White Paper Factory™ solution and Production Intelligence® software, migrating more than 1,500 applications from pre-printed forms to full-variable color on roll-fed paper. The change eliminated up to 85 million cut-sheets of inventory, increased operational efficiency by 15%, allowed up to 185,000 documents per inserter in a single shift, improved tracking and accuracy, lowered postage through zip-code presort, and enabled over 90% of jobs to be completed within 24 hours.
