University of Liverpool automates tracking of inbound student mail for full accountability

The University of Liverpool, which houses more than 4,500 students across seven halls, was struggling with a paper-based mail system that caused human error, delays and shelf congestion as each residence received multiple bags of post and international parcels daily. To modernize inbound mail handling they engaged Pitney Bowes and implemented SendSuite Arrival inbound package tracking software.

Pitney Bowes deployed SendSuite Arrival with barcode scanning, electronic signature capture and automated email notifications, replacing whiteboards and paper logs. The change cut daily processing time that once took up to four–five hours into a fast scan-and-notify workflow, virtually eliminated lost parcels, provided auditable accountability for queries, and dramatically increased parcel turnover (shelves often full by late morning and half empty by mid-afternoon).
