Case Study: The Tot achieves seamless international shipping and 20% of sales from abroad with Pitney Bowes

A Pitney Bowes Case Study

Preview of the The Tot Case Study

The Tot delivers on the needs of parents globally with international shipping

The Tot, an online retailer serving parents and children, faced growing global demand but its ecommerce system couldn’t handle cross-border orders — international customers were forced to email purchases and staff spent hours manually checking carriers, duties and availability. To fix this, The Tot turned to Pitney Bowes to enable seamless, automated international shipping through its platform.

Pitney Bowes implemented Complete™ Cross-Border (part of the Commerce Complete® platform), using APIs and a Pitney Bowes–hosted proxy to show local-currency pricing, duties/taxes, available shipping options and tracking while blocking non-exportable items. The six-week rollout enabled shipments to 38 countries in the first six months, drove roughly 20% of sales from outside the U.S. (mostly incremental), expanded The Tot’s reach from one country to about 200, and significantly reduced staff time spent on international orders.
