Case Study: Poste Maroc achieves a 1.5% undeliverable mail rate with Pitney Bowes Spectrum

A Pitney Bowes Case Study

Preview of the Poste Maroc Case Study

Poste Maroc uses Spectrum to reduce undeliverable mail throughout Morocco

Poste Maroc, Morocco’s government-owned postal and parcel operator, was struggling with high levels of undeliverable mail (12–15%) and a labor-intensive process of manually validating addresses caused by rapid housing development, nonstandard address formats and multilingual data. To solve this, Poste Maroc engaged Pitney Bowes and deployed its Spectrum technology—including the Universal Addressing Module, Data Normalization Module and Data Quality Connectors—to automate address validation and standardization.

Pitney Bowes implemented Spectrum (with OCR integration on the sorting platform) to cleanse, validate and return ranked candidate addresses in real time and batch processes, and to connect quality checks into Poste Maroc’s systems. The results: undeliverable mail fell to 1.5% (about a 90% reduction), manual address-validation hours dropped by roughly 80%, the solution paid back on the first customer, and Poste Maroc is better positioned to support ecommerce growth across Morocco and Africa.
