A Pitney Bowes Case Study
Billy Reid, the U.S. luxury clothing brand, faced a sudden international surge in demand after images of a navy peacoat worn by James Bond in Skyfall sparked orders from Europe and beyond. At the time Billy Reid had limited ability to sell abroad—high shipping costs, surprise duties at delivery, and onerous customs paperwork were driving cart abandonment—so the company relied on Pitney Bowes and its Pitney Bowes Global Ecommerce solution to address those gaps.
Pitney Bowes implemented its Global Ecommerce software and logistics service to provide guaranteed landed costs in the customer’s currency, lower shipping rates, customs classification and paperwork, and end-to-end tracking. With Pitney Bowes’ solution Billy Reid was able to ship worldwide without friction, delivering more than 1,000 peacoats overseas, generating over $2 million in peacoat sales, and growing international sales from just above zero percent to more than 10 percent of overall sales.
