A Pitney Bowes Case Study
Centerstone, a large not-for-profit provider of community-based behavioral healthcare, was struggling with a time-consuming, costly in-house billing process: staff were hand-stuffing envelopes, paying full postage because they didn’t meet USPS volume discounts, and managing confidential medical statements. After an unsuccessful outsourcing attempt, Centerstone turned to Pitney Bowes and its Mailstream On Demand service to address these operational and cost challenges.
Pitney Bowes implemented Mailstream On Demand’s combined digital and physical workflow—Centerstone submits customer data, Pitney Bowes generates colorized statements with return envelopes and multiple payment options, and handles mailing securely. The result, according to Centerstone, was a substantial boost in payments (an increase they estimate at least one-third and possibly up to double), improved cash flow, reduced paper/postage costs, and freed staff from mailing duties, significantly improving productivity.
