A Pitney Bowes Case Study
Large North American Bank faced a need to modernize how it planned branch openings, closures and product mix across a 1,000+ location network. The bank’s retail distribution group had been making one-off decisions with little enterprise-level analysis, so it engaged Pitney Bowes and its location-based data and analytics — including Spectrum, GeoInsight, WinSITE and PERFORM .360 plus Pitney Bowes Demand Insight Financial datasets — to build a scalable Location Intelligence capability.
Pitney Bowes implemented a Spectrum data-mart with 36 months of customer history and integrated Demographics, Business and Demand Insight Financial data, surfaced in map-based GeoInsight and driven through WinSITE predictive simulations and PERFORM .360 sales-targeting. The solution let the bank evaluate more than 15,000 potential sites, identify which branch closures would minimize revenue loss, set opportunity-based branch targets and replace manual spreadsheet processes — resulting in more accurate investment forecasts, higher proportions of branches hitting revenue targets and improved staff morale.
