A Pitney Bowes Case Study
FedoPress, the document service facility for Belgium’s Federal Public Service of Finance that produces about 30 million letters a year, faced inefficiencies from running separate offset and digital print workflows and aimed to migrate offset jobs to a unified digital operation. To meet quality, cost and space goals it partnered with Pitney Bowes, leveraging solutions including the IntelliJet 20 Printing System, Mailstream Productivity Series Inserters, the Print+ Messenger Color Inkjet System and the White Paper Factory software suite.
Pitney Bowes redesigned FedoPress’s workflow, replacing 15 machines with a handful of production print and mail systems, integrating two IntelliJet 20s (plus HP Indigo presses) and job‑management software tied into Heidelberg PriNect. The result: all production on one floor, IntelliJet systems now handle approximately 75% of former offset work, about €0.20 saved per mail piece, elimination of pre‑printed stock and real‑time process control — positioning FedoPress to attract additional government work.
