Dorset County Council fast-tracks highway maintenance by deploying a mobile asset management solution

Dorset County Council, which manages highways and street assets across a largely rural and tourist-driven county, struggled with a paper-based asset-management process that forced engineers and crews to collect and return paper records at depots. To gain mobile visibility, better mapping and asset-centric reporting, Dorset selected Pitney Bowes’ Confirm Enterprise Asset Management solution (including ConfirmConnect and ConfirmWorkzone).

Pitney Bowes deployed Confirm with ConfirmConnect and ConfirmWorkzone so residents can log issues on a map, inspectors get immediate alerts, and field teams receive and update work on mobile devices. The change cut record-entry time from six–eight weeks to about 45 seconds after work completion, freed three administrative staff for redeployment, reduced travel time for crews, and enabled faster responses (investigations often begun within an hour); Dorset has since moved the Pitney Bowes solution to a SaaS model for greater resilience.
