Domino’s streamlines the planning of its franchise territories

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd, the largest Domino’s franchisee with more than 1,500 stores, faced increasing complexity in managing franchise territories as urban areas changed. Relying on five‑year census data and a manual UBD® street-directory process meant territory lists were quickly out of date, causing disputes, lost customers and revenue, slow two‑week territory setups, and poor address quality. Domino’s engaged Pitney Bowes for a Location Intelligence and certified address validation solution (including MapInfo Pro, Spectrum and MapInfo StreetPro).

Pitney Bowes implemented a custom Location Intelligence system that automatically lists all serviceable addresses within a boundary, integrates validated address data with Domino’s phone and online ordering, and updates lists quarterly or on demand. The new solution cut territory creation from about two weeks to minutes, increased delivery reach, reduced revenue lost to “dead” or unknown addresses, improved the customer ordering experience by directing customers to the nearest store, and boosted internal productivity and legal risk management for Domino’s.
