Zola, founded in 2013 by three former Gilt employees, is an online wedding registry that needed to stand out on Pinterest to reach couples planning their weddings. Their challenge was to create eye-catching, useful Pins that reinforced Zola’s sleek brand while driving awareness, website actions and sales.

Zola combined Pinterest creative best practices—high-quality vertical images, simple text overlays, curated lists and detailed descriptions with strong CTAs (which doubled conversion for those Pins)—with a methodical Promoted Pins strategy. Partnering with Unique Influence to add relevant search terms, targeting U.S. men and women, and expanding to all devices led to a 44% increase in conversions and more than a 50% rise in clickthrough rates.
