Ziploc, a consumer packaged-goods brand, needed to stand out in a crowded category of national brands and private labels and to drive awareness and website traffic. Joining Pinterest in 2013 gave the team a platform to share organization, cooking and craft tips that align with the aspirations of their audience while supporting broader goals of awareness, website actions and traffic.
Ziploc tested Promoted Pins as an early beta partner and focused on self-contained, surprising and seasonally relevant creative, then optimized its site to be more image-forward and Pinnable. Using Rich Pins, the Save button, Pinterest Analytics and Promoted Pins, the brand achieved 2.3x the average save rate of all Promoted Pins and 1.4x the average engagement rate, with save and clickthrough rates improving quarter over quarter and Pinterest becoming a major source of site traffic.
