Pivot, the media brand behind the unscripted series Human Resources about TerraCycle’s upcycling work, needed to find and engage a DIY-minded audience on Pinterest to drive awareness and website actions across North America. They wanted a more organic, interest-driven alternative to traditional paid social channels to reach Pinners who come to the platform for repurposing ideas.
Working with agency RPA and partner Adaptly, Pivot used TerraCycle’s own Pinterest board and creative Promoted Pins featuring eco-friendly upcycling how-tos (like pens-as-lampshades and coffee‑pod bracelets). The campaign generated more than 3.5 million impressions and 44,480+ engagements, led to a 10% decrease in cost-per-click and an 8.8% decrease in cost-per-engagement, and delivered engagement that was 8x more efficient than other platforms.
