Moorea Seal - Customer Case Study
Moorea Seal, an illustrator-turned-entrepreneur, struggled to build a creative career after the 2009 economic collapse, juggling blogs, design, jewelry and nannying. She used Pinterest to define her visual voice and amass a large, engaged following, which attracted partnerships and press and made it possible to launch MooreaSeal.com (Shopify) in July 2013 and later open a Seattle storefront. The core challenge was creating awareness and sustained traffic to turn her online curation into a viable business.
MooreaSeal focused on personal, lifestyle-driven Pinterest content—beautifully styled product images, regular photo shoots and customer-submitted pins—which became the brand’s top traffic and sales source. Pinterest drove major collaborations, media coverage, global in-store visitors (about half of storefront customers cite social media) and even a two-book publishing deal, achieving the company’s goals to create awareness and drive website traffic.
