How thyssenkrupp Materials UK is attracting a new generation to a traditional industry

thyssenkrupp Materials UK, a UK manufacturing business, needed to attract a new generation of candidates into traditional, niche roles like Slitter Operator and Plate Saw Operator. Younger jobseekers often overlooked these positions, while the talent team also wanted to improve candidate experience, hiring manager collaboration, and reporting. To help solve this, thyssenkrupp chose Pinpoint, an ATS and talent acquisition platform.

With Pinpoint, thyssenkrupp built more engaging job pages and careers content, centralized requisitions, candidate communication and onboarding, and introduced digital document signing and visual reporting dashboards. In just three months, the company posted 24 jobs, received 395 applications, and made 19 hires. Pinpoint also helped thyssenkrupp improve source quality, DE&I insights, time-to-hire analysis, and candidate feedback tracking, while making the system easier for hiring managers to use.
