On February 12, 2019, TechCrunch launched Extra Crunch — a subscription product with exclusive deep-dive content, event discounts, and new reading tools — built on Piano's platform for digital media.
Piano implemented the subscription and content-delivery infrastructure that powers Extra Crunch, enabling features like Rapid Read and List Builder and integrated event savings. By using Piano, TechCrunch was able to monetize its large audience, convert readers into paying members, and deliver a premium experience to its user base of roughly 15 million monthly active users.
