A Phrase Localization Platform Case Study
Cybozu, Inc., a maker of cloud-based groupware, faced a growing documentation problem: its technical communications team used a CMS and a manual PDF-based process where authors highlighted changes and translators reworked sections one-by-one. That workflow was slow, error-prone and could not keep up with the faster, iterative cadence introduced by agile development.
They migrated content into Git, switched manuscripts to Markdown, and adopted Memsource for translation management with Hugo to publish HTML. This enabled incremental change tracking, cloud-based workflows, and use of machine-translation with post-editing for large volumes—reducing manual work and omissions, speeding time-to-publish, preserving version history, and improving scalability and translator context.
