Mixi - Customer Case Study

mixi is a Japanese social-networking and entertainment company best known for the hit mobile game Monster Strike. A small in-house team translates UI and game content from Japanese into English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and Korean, but faced challenges with live-ops deadlines, inconsistent terminology and quality, and error-prone collaboration through Google Sheets that led to overwritten work and slow glossary searches.

By implementing Memsource with a standardized template and centralized workflow, mixi moved translation, review, term base lookup, and QA into one collaborative platform. The change improved consistency via translation memory and term bases, added version control with Continuous Job updates, reduced QA time, and saved up to 10 hours of manpower per week while noticeably improving overall translation quality and enabling efficient outsourcing when needed.
