Creating Consistency and Maintaining Quality at GameHouse

GameHouse, a major developer and publisher of casual PC, Mac, and mobile games with over 2,300 titles, needed to localize content into nearly 20 languages at high volume (2.2 million words in Q1 2017). Their legacy in-house tool lacked fuzzy matches and a robust translation memory, leading to repeated translations, inconsistent terminology, and ad-hoc project tracking via Post‑It notes and shared calendars—making quality control and deadline management difficult.

In Q2 2016 GameHouse adopted Memsource, a cloud-based CAT and translation management platform that provides translation memories, term bases, QA checks, real-time project dashboards, and template-driven workflows. The platform reduced duplicate work, enforced consistent terminology, simplified collaboration and training for freelance translators, delivered measurable ROI as TM and glossaries grew, and allowed the team to scale language offerings while keeping translators tightly integrated in the process.
