A Modern, Effortless Workflow for a Major Japanese Agency

Honyaku Center, Japan’s largest translation company founded in 1986 and originally focused on medical translation, had grown into a full-service language concierge serving industry, patents and finance. The company struggled with a mix of over‑engineered CAT tools that were hard for in‑house and freelance translators to use, inefficient email-based project management that caused delays and tracking gaps, and technical needs such as strong security, Japanese filename encoding and handling very large files.

Honyaku Center adopted Memsource for its cloud-based, versatile platform, intuitive interface and responsive support, which resolved encoding and large-file issues and improved access control. Moving projects to Memsource enabled real‑time project tracking, stronger QA and terminology checks, effective reuse of translation memories, and safe use of machine translation (including MTQE). Today the majority of projects run on Memsource, producing faster handoffs, cost reductions and higher, more consistent quality.
