Phocas Gives Homeware Supplier Caprice A Clear Visibility Into Their Data

Caprice is a Melbourne-based, family-owned homeware and textile supplier founded in 1959 that supplies more than 15,000 products to around 400 customers, including major retailers. Before adopting a BI solution, the business relied on ad hoc reports and manual Excel uploads from its IBS ERP, which made reporting cumbersome, limited visibility into sales and stock, and required daily report generation by management.

By implementing Phocas BI (with nightly data updates from IBS) and Phocas Xpress for customer-facing stock views, Caprice gave managers and retail customers fast, browser-based access to up-to-date inventory, sales and margin data. The result was better inventory decisions, fewer phone enquiries, sharper analysis of customer and product performance, stronger customer relationships, and estimated annual savings of at least A$500,000 from reduced reporting effort and lower unsold stock.
