Case Study: Kimberley Marketing achieves faster rebate management and stronger customer service with Phocas

A Phocas Case Study

Preview of the Kimberley Marketing Case Study

Grocery distributor uses data to justify quality service strategy

Kimberley Marketing (KM) is a wholesale grocery distributor and cash-and-carry in remote Kununurra, Western Australia, supplying 6,000 products to 200 customers across a 125-mile radius. Facing pressure from supermarket price wars, fluctuating commodity costs and complex supplier rebate programs, KM needed better reporting and supplier management to remain competitive and justify its service-focused strategy.

KM implemented Phocas data analytics to consolidate sales and purchasing data, track margins and order sizes, and manage diverse rebate programs with configurable fiscal periods. The software cut rebate reconciliation from 2–3 days to about 20 minutes, produces daily KPI summaries, and provides year-round visibility that helps KM match supplier figures, improve customer service and sustain its competitive position despite city pricing pressure.
