Hewlett Packard Enterprise saves 60+ hours and screens 4,000 applicants with Phenom

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) faced a significant challenge in scaling its executive screening process for a VP role that received 4,000 applicants. Committed to evaluating every candidate fairly, HPE needed a solution to handle high-volume, in-depth screening calls that could last up to 90 minutes while freeing up recruiter capacity. To address this, HPE partnered with vendor Phenom to pilot the use of its AI agents.

Phenom implemented a two-part solution using its Fit Score to rank candidates and its Voice Screening Agent to conduct structured, in-depth conversations. The results from the pilot were substantial: 132 qualified candidates were identified from the 4,000 applicants, with a 92% accuracy in Fit Score rankings and a 0.84 correlation between the AI's ratings and human decisions. The process saved over 60 hours on the single requisition and was well-received by candidates, including executives who initially expressed skepticism.
