PolyOne, a global polymer materials company with 6,000+ employees and 60+ manufacturing and distribution sites worldwide, needed a single wellbeing program that could unite offices, integrate safety education, and sustain engagement across its diverse, largely non-desk workforce. Previous efforts let employees earn incentives quickly and then disengage, so HR sought a solution that would drive year‑round participation and work across multiple languages and locations.
PolyOne partnered with Virgin Pulse and launched a digital‑first, communications‑driven program that paired local wellness champions with tools like wearable trackers, location‑specific computers, breakroom messaging, posters, daily content cards and a year‑long incentive structure. The campaign increased ongoing participation, helped create a culture of health and productivity, and produced measurable organizational benefits (stronger engagement, executive buy‑in and expected improvements in retention and healthcare costs).
