Northern Arizona Healthcare raises 65,000 mindful minutes and donates $5,000 with Personify Health

Northern Arizona Healthcare, a large regional healthcare system, faced significant employee burnout and stress among its 3,000+ frontline workers during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Wellness Manager Mitch Martens sought a unique solution through their vendor, Personify Health, to re-engage staff and prioritize mental wellbeing during the stressful holiday season, moving beyond traditional wellness challenges.

Partnering with Personify Health, the solution was a two-week "Mindful Minutes" challenge with a collective goal. Personify Health helped implement the initiative where if employees collectively logged 25,000 minutes of mindfulness, the organization would donate $5,000 to local charities. The campaign was bolstered by strong executive support. The results far exceeded expectations: employees logged over 65,000 minutes, more than 2.6 times the goal. The challenge achieved a 24% participation rate, becoming the organization's top-performing initiative, and resulted in a $5,000 donation to two local non-profits.
