Valley Water is the public water agency serving Silicon Valley (about 780 employees) responsible for drinking water, flood protection and habitat stewardship. Facing a dispersed workforce of field and shift employees, intense local competition for talent, and a weak collective wellbeing culture, the organization needed a tailored, measurable way to connect staff, boost engagement and improve health outcomes.

Partnering with McGriff Insurance and adopting the Virgin Pulse integrated wellbeing platform, Valley Water built a data-driven, multi-channel program with dedicated wellness staff and targeted communications. The program achieved 76% participation, roughly $600K saved annually on insurance (about $1.2M over two years), 94% of members reporting life improvements, strong employee sentiment about workplace culture, and regional and national recognition including Healthiest Employer in the Bay Area and placement on the 100 Healthiest Workplaces in America.
