H1 Systems is a Hungary‑based engineering firm that builds complex security and data‑centre and building‑management solutions and prides itself on a family‑centric workplace culture. Leadership wanted to deepen collaboration, teamwork and employee wellbeing — including engaging employees’ families — and faced the added challenge of driving participation and connection while people worked remotely during the pandemic.

H1 partnered with Virgin Pulse (initial roll‑out in 2019, expanded in 2020 to include paid family registrations and devices) and used townhalls, email campaigns, leaderboards, management role‑modelling and team “coaches” to boost engagement. The programme delivered strong results: 93% of employees now meet 10,000 steps/day (up from 20%), 57% report reduced stress, 69% report higher productivity, along with stronger team spirit, increased engagement and reduced turnover.
