A Personify Health Case Study
DTE Energy, a Detroit-based utility serving 3.6 million customers with more than 11,000 employees across 60+ locations and 21 states, struggled to unify a dispersed, mixed workforce (field, remote and office) and consistently align sites to corporate health and wellbeing goals. Reaching diverse worksites and creating a consistent culture of health was made harder by multiple unions, varying local resources and different workplace routines.
DTE partnered with Virgin Pulse and adopted the evidence-based Culture Check assessment, paired with leadership interviews and onsite Health & Wellbeing Specialists, to create location-specific plans, accountability and better nutrition and program supports. The effort drove measurable results: a 20‑point Culture Check gain to an average score of 81 (now the highest in Virgin Pulse’s book of business), 72% program enrollment, 53% average monthly engagement, 1,200+ employees and spouses in health coaching, 3,600+ onsite events, and healthier vending at 75% of sites.
