UCHealth, a large Colorado healthcare system with more than 26,000 employees across 12 hospitals, wanted a better way to listen to its workforce, improve employee engagement, and build trust and transparency across the organization. The health system found its traditional 45-question engagement survey was too long and not actionable enough, so it looked for a faster, more focused employee listening approach with Perceptyx.
Using Perceptyx’s employee voice and crowdsourcing approach, UCHealth shortened surveys to six questions, ran them three times per year, and added open-ended feedback with voting to identify the most important issues. The results were discussed in CEO-led sessions and shared through team leaders, helping drive action. Since implementing the program, UCHealth increased employee engagement by 15%, improved trust in leadership by 18%, and saw a 19-point engagement difference between managers who acted on results and those who did not, alongside improved patient satisfaction scores.
