Ahold Delhaize, one of the world’s largest food retail groups, needed a way to get a single, company-wide view of employee engagement after its 2016 merger. With 20 local brands, multiple legacy systems, different data formats, and concerns about survey confidentiality, the company struggled to standardize engagement data across nearly 7,000 stores and 380,000 employees. It partnered with Perceptyx to support its global engagement survey program and create a consistent baseline.

Perceptyx helped Ahold Delhaize collect, integrate, and organize disparate HR and employee data, while also enabling brand-specific survey customization, local branding, and multiple languages. The vendor’s flexibility and support made it possible to launch the new survey in April 2017 and attribute data to all 380,000 associates for the first time, giving the company much richer insights. Over time, Ahold Delhaize reduced survey reporting from 120 pages to 30, improved transparency and buy-in, and began connecting engagement data to business metrics to support more strategic, predictive listening.
