Carhartt, the apparel manufacturer and retailer, wanted to expand its employee listening strategy beyond a single engagement score and better understand what was driving associate experience, leadership effectiveness, and inclusion across its workforce. In 2019, Carhartt partnered with Perceptyx to build a more comprehensive feedback program across the associate journey.

Perceptyx implemented census and lifecycle surveys, starting with an enterprise-wide survey and later adding an onboarding survey, with segmented reporting, dashboard access for leaders, and comment analysis. The approach helped Carhartt drive more decentralized action planning and connect feedback to business outcomes: participation reached 84%, engagement rose 25 points since 2016, October 2020 engagement hit 93%, and the company also reported a record sales year in 2020.
