Cengage, a global edtech company serving higher education, workforce skills, secondary education, ELT, and research markets, needed a more effective employee listening program. The company wanted to better understand employee sentiment, create a stronger culture, and move beyond ad hoc surveys by finding a listening partner with the right data, dashboards, and consulting support. Perceptyx was selected to help Cengage build a more mature, organization-wide approach to employee listening.

Perceptyx implemented an annual census survey program, beginning in 2019, along with flexible dashboards that managers and executives could filter by team, demographics, tenure, ERG membership, and other segments. The results helped Cengage improve manager one-on-ones, guide DEI and development efforts, and address compensation communication gaps; it also gave leaders faster access to actionable insights for planning. With Perceptyx, Cengage turned listening data into ongoing action planning and continuous improvement in employee engagement.
