Oranj’s Pendo-powered customer retention strategy

Oranj provides a platform that helps financial advisors streamline portfolio management and client services so they can spend less time on paperwork and more on clients. Headed by Lauri Hofherr and product designer Marco Fabrega, the team relied on a fragmented analytics/onboarding stack but needed more precision to lift early activation and long-term retention—analysis showed about half of new users skipped a key welcome modal and only 25% completed onboarding.

Oranj replaced its stack with Pendo, used Product Benchmarks and analytics to pinpoint drop-offs, then rebuilt and A/B refined a welcome modal and targeted in‑app guides (including GIFs) to walk users through setup tasks. Those changes raised engagement and modal completion rates, improved self‑serve onboarding, increased feature discovery and retention, and created clearer paths for users to connect with Oranj’s advisory team.
