Hanapin Marketing is a Bloomington, Indiana–based paid search agency (founded 2004) that builds and optimizes clients’ paid search programs and also develops tools — including the Hero Pro platform — to automate day-to-day tasks for a large Google AdWords community. Known for innovation, Hanapin challenged itself to deepen product engagement and create a more compelling customer experience and onboarding flow for its growing small-business portfolio.

To do this, Hanapin adopted Pendo: combining product analytics with in-app guides to personalize onboarding, using analytics to identify and reach users of specific features, and locating friction points and bugs to fix proactively. Those changes accelerated UX improvements, streamlined new-customer onboarding, and produced a measurable lift in overall product engagement and customer satisfaction, making Pendo a key part of Hanapin’s retention efforts.
