U.S. Census Bureau boosts productivity of 400K field staff for 2020 Census

The U.S. Census Bureau needed to modernize its Census data collection process, replacing cumbersome manual workflows that were prone to errors while also addressing privacy and security concerns. It partnered with Pegasystems and used the Pega Government Platform as part of its ECaSE project to create an integrated solution for shared data collection and processing.

Pegasystems implemented a platform that unified survey and field operations, mobile enumeration, and response management across web, phone, paper, and field channels. The results were significant: enumerator productivity increased by 48.57%, the 2020 Census reached 90% completion six weeks early, the system ran with zero downtime, and Pegasystems helped support 400,000 unique logins in a single weekend.
