Registers of Scotland Improving efficiency and customer responsiveness of world’s oldest land registry

Registers of Scotland, the world’s oldest land registry responsible for 18 land, property and judicial registers, needed to modernize inefficient paper-based processes, digitize historic ownership records at the Scottish Minister’s request, and enable online registration and conveyancing while becoming more flexible to changing market conditions.

Using the Pega Platform, RoS deployed a Case Management System that automates case creation, document scanning, mapping, registration, quality assurance and archiving, migrating deeds to online, map-based records. The solution delivers hands-free processing, improved auditability and secure electronic storage, higher throughput with fewer staff, and cut average processing time for simple cases from 17.7 days to 8.9 days (over 50% reduction).
