Mizuho Bank Reengineering the processes of a global corporate business

Mizuho Bank’s Global Corporate Company, expanding rapidly across East Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania, faced operational strain from paper-based processes, dependence on tacit knowledge, inconsistent rules and unclear delegations. These issues caused bottlenecks, higher costs and low employee productivity, creating an urgent need to standardize, automate and remove reliance on manuals and on-site expertise.

Mizuho implemented Pegasystems to digitize and reengineer workflows—using DCO for user-driven requirements and Situational Layer Cake for region-specific overlays—achieving a paperless, intuitive platform with a three‑month U.S. cutover. The rollout cut processing time and workloads, improved business quality and user satisfaction, enabled global standardization with local delegation, and provided real‑time visualization and monitoring of operations.
