AbbVie, a research-based biopharmaceutical company, needed a more flexible request management approach for its CMC and R&D teams because its in-house system could handle only basic scientist sample requests and was not ready for future use cases. AbbVie partnered with Pegasystems, using the Pega System Request Management Tool, to create a reusable platform that could support evolving workflows across the organization.

Pegasystems helped AbbVie automate a time-consuming manual process and deploy the solution across multiple research areas. The initial success drove interest in other teams, and AbbVie is now extending the platform with preclinical functionality; when complete, it will serve more than 600 users worldwide.
