Walmart Marketplace keeps sellers engaged with powerful payouts

Walmart Marketplace is a curated community of third‑party sellers created by Walmart to expand selection on www.walmart.com, which reaches over 120 million unique visitors per month. To better empower small businesses, Walmart faced the challenge of making the platform more nimble and useful—adding flexible payout options, smoother tax processing and operational efficiencies to help sellers meet Walmart’s quality and service standards.

In late 2019 Walmart integrated PayPal’s Hyperwallet to offer trusted, varied payout methods and streamline onboarding. Adoption grew rapidly—more than half of new sellers choose Hyperwallet—and internal metrics show a 629% increase in payout volume and a 130% increase in sellers using Hyperwallet when comparing Q2 and Q3 of 2020. The integration also improved support through better controls, customization and KYC alignment, helping Walmart and PayPal co‑innovate at scale.
