Kids Help Phone - Customer Case Study

Kids Help Phone is a bilingual, anonymous phone counselling, referral and Internet service for children and youth in Canada. For its Walk for Kids Help Phone walkathon — a major fundraiser that contributes more than a quarter of the charity’s $12M budget — the organization wanted to boost donations from 18–29 year olds but found many in that demographic lacked credit cards, making peer-to-peer online giving difficult.

Kids Help Phone enabled PayPal as a payment channel through Artez Interactive’s fundraising platform (a quick API key setup), letting college‑age donors give without a credit card. The change produced nearly 1,500 PayPal pledges totaling over $55,000, brought in new young donors, increased stakeholder confidence, and was rolled out to the main donation page and other campaigns — even powering a sponsor-run mini‑campaign via a PayPal button.
