LovelySkin is a dermatologist-owned online retailer led by Dr. Joel Schlessinger that specializes in professional-grade skincare and beauty products. When the pandemic closed salons and shifted consumer demand from makeup to skincare, the company needed safer, easier online experiences and more flexible payment options to keep serving customers and sustain growth.

To meet that need LovelySkin launched PayPal’s Pay in 4 in October 2020, leveraging customer trust in PayPal to offer buy-now-pay-later financing. Since 2021 Pay Later sales grew 167% year-over-year, now account for about 13% of LovelySkin’s PayPal volume (up from ~8%), and Pay in 4 orders have a 33% higher average order value — helping customers spend more while maintaining convenience and security.
