Expedia Group Media Solutions partnered with PayPal to change how travelers encounter payment options by moving PayPal visibility earlier in the shopping journey. The goal was to increase PayPal transactions and brand trust among travel shoppers who typically see payment methods only at booking.

They ran a data-driven, multi-channel campaign—co-branded social and paid media, a custom landing page with incentives, and native placements across Hotels.com and Expedia—organized into inspiration, planning and booking stages. The results were strong: a 0.32% overall CTR, more than 250K new users transacting with PayPal, Phase 1 ROAS of 73X and Phase 2 ROAS of 110X (a 51% lift), and 21% of PayPal sales on Expedia/Hotels.com tied to campaign ads.
