Skyscanner - Customer Case Study

Skyscanner is a leading global travel search site used by about 60 million people each month. Although it helped customers find and compare flights worldwide, users were forced off Skyscanner to airline sites to complete bookings and payments, creating friction and lost revenue. To improve the user experience and increase conversion, Skyscanner partnered with Braintree for an integrated payments solution.

In May 2016 Skyscanner integrated Braintree’s contextual commerce offering and Forward API to enable direct bookings and payments within its site and apps, regardless of the airline’s payment processor. Within a year this drove a 20% increase in total sales, a 50% uplift on mobile, and a 100% increase in sales of ancillary services like travel insurance and extra baggage.
